# Source of Wealth

> When source of wealth (SOW) is required, accepted documents by source, and validity windows.

Source of wealth (SOW) verification confirms where a customer's funds come from. It is required to raise a customer to Tier 2 (unlimited limits) and for Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).

Every document must show the **customer's name**, **issue date**, and **financial value** (the income, balance, or transaction showing where the funds came from).

## Accepted documents by source

## Not accepted

* Credit card statements
* Documents older than 3 months (12 months for tax returns, dividends, pensions)
* Screenshots without the customer's name or the issuing institution
* Documents that do not clearly show where the funds came from
